Your first ride — 5 steps
Find the stop
Platform shelters on the corridor. At Newcastle Interchange, follow signs from trains/buses to Light Rail. See all 6 stops →
Check direction
East → Newcastle Beach · West → Newcastle Interchange. Wrong way? Ride to the end and reverse — the line is short.
Tap on at the platform
Use the platform validators before boarding. Hold Opal or contactless flat until the success tone/light. Drivers don’t sell tickets onboard.
Board & ride
Level boarding on CAF Urbos 100 vehicles. Priority seats are marked. Hops between stops are short — know your exit before you arrive.
Tap off when you leave
Tap off so Opal charges the right distance and transfers work. Forgetting can trigger a default journey fare.
